“A satirical publication inspired by all the Instagram users out there” – this is how Top Girl Studio describes its first book release, iGIRL, depicting the woes of our favorite photo-friendly social media. Both entertaining and a little disturbing, iGIRL is the alter ego of the 26-year-old Central Saint Martins graduate and founder of Top Girl Studio Anna Potter, who expresses herself using typical Instagram slang and reactions (such as “Like all my photos and don’t follow me back”). She tells Dazed about the genesis of the book:  “When it came to getting ideas on what topics to choose for iGirl, it was pretty easy, I just read a lot of comments from people I follow. The words they use, how they tag their friends, everything had this tone to it and it intrigued me.” A parallel universe, with its own codes and language – Instagram in a nutshell.
