The Gabrielle bag has just been launched, and believe me there is no way of escaping it! It’s Chanel’s big release this year, and the maison has focused all its efforts on it… Just in case you’ve spent the last two months living in a cave, here’s a reminder: the Gabrielle bag was launched at the beginning of April with four digital films released as teasings, one after the other, featuring a star-studded and 100% Chanel casting: Kristen Stewart, Pharrell Williams, Cara Delevingne, Caroline de Maigret.
Very different to its predecessors (the famous 2.55, and more recently the Boy), the Gabrielle bag isn’t rectangular but has a slightly flattened bucket shape, which makes it super practical (you can trust I’ve tried it out, more like for three days than for an hour!). The base of it is rigid – it looks like the virtual-reality headsets – but the rest of the bag is actually quite soft. It’s available in different sizes, different materials, different colours (ohlala, so much love for the light green/bright yellow one!) but the best part is the number of different ways you can wear it… On your shoulder like your old aunt Beatrice, or crossing the two shoulder straps around you like a modern-day amazon. You can also, like in our fashion story, wear it around your neck – like an unaccompanied minor travelling without its parents – around you foot, because your hands are already far too full, or even wear seven bags at the same time like a street vendor from the Boulevard Barbès! It’s up to you if you want to pair it with an oversized rubber ring – but only if you wear it with a skimpy swimming costume underneath your trench coat! One last option would be to use for carrying the extra groceries that don’t fit in your shopping crate… Truly multi-functional, we’re crazy about the Gabrielle bag!
