Her creations very nearly stole the show at Cannes film festival last month, worn by everyone from Catherine Deneuve to Laetitia Casta. Charlotte Chesnais is the name everyone in the fashion world is whispering, so exclusive that it is reluctant to speak it too loud. Sold at Colette from this month, Charlotte’s Giacometti-like jewelry, in solid gold, silver or vermeil, winds itself delicately around wrists and fingers, or perches up around one’s ear like elegant Saturn rings. The 30-year-old Parisian designer learnt her trade first alongside Vincent Daré at Ungaro, then worked with Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga for nearly a decade, and is currently in charge of jewelry and accessories at Paco Rabanne. We predict big things for her : alongside other Please! favourite Annelise Michelson, Charlotte Chesnais is one of the finalists of the prestigious ANDAM Accessory Design award… turning that whisper into a resounding shout.
