Even if I have attended many Chanel shows, it’s something I will never get tired of. The Chanel show is the high point of the fashion week schedule, the show not to be missed under any circumstance! Everyone goes to Chanel with a smile on their face – something that cannot be said for some other shows ! – because we know we’re going to have an incredible and unique time ! The magic is everywhere : in the show’s set, of course, but that you’ve already seen on Instagram. But not only : browsing the alleys to find your seat is the best way to find a head-to-toe Chanel-clad creature from Asia or the Middle East… Chanel always invites a lot of its clients, which is always a pleasure for people who enjoy seeing people with a colorful personal style (like me!). Of course there are always the numerous VIPs, a sort of Chanel family that is seen one season after another (and which other fashion house is as indefectively loyal to its muses??) : Caroline de Maigret, Stella Tennant, Cécile Cassel, Soko, Inès de la Fressange, Poppy Delevingne, Alma Jodorowsky… And this time, there also was the collection to gawp at : gorgeous, chic, simpler than usual, paying hommage to the Chanel codes – tweed everywhere, straight, simple skirts, elegant trouser suits… There were also the little two tone sling-back kitten heels, the ones that chic grandmas wear in Paris’s 16th arrondissement. I can already see how Leandra Medine is going to give them a twist by pairing them with frayed-hem jeans… I liked the hairdos, those little black headbands on backcombed hair. They made me think of Philosophy students in the sixties going to the Sorbonne to find a husband… All this in an amazing brasserie show set that fitted perfectly with the tone of the collection. Monsieur Lagerfeld triumphs once again.
